Joan Bordash BIO
I am the proud owner/operator of Next Steps Breastfeeding Support, and am pleased to share referrals with my trusted peers, Catherine and Kathryn.
I graduated in 1980 with my Diploma in Nursing and have had a varied career, primarily in community nursing and public health. In the late 90’s, I began working with the Maternal/Infant population in the community. I earned my IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) in 2002 and re-certified in 2007, 2012 and 2017. I also returned to University in 2002 and graduated in 2004 with a BScN (Hon) degree. I’ve enjoyed helping hundreds of mothers and babies over the years.
Perhaps I should mention I am the proud mother of two handsome young men, now 25 and 24. And of course they were breastfed!
Once your baby has arrived, I can help you with an in-house consultation. The first few days can be difficult; it’s important to get off to the best start possible!.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Kathryn Cuthbertson BIO
I graduated from Acadia University with a degree in Kinesiology and from University of Toronto with a Nursing degree in 2008. Initially working in adult cardiac care at St. Michael’s Hospital, I had my first child and struggled with the transition to parenthood and breastfeeding. I received amazing support from an IBCLC and found my true passion in working with families, eventually making the move to public health nursing. I obtained my IBCLC designation in 2018 and am excited to help families on their breastfeeding adventure!
